Damage Tolerance & Structural Integrity
Whether a crack that already exists will hold — or grow to failure.
What this service is
Assessment of how flaws, cracks, and accumulated damage affect the integrity and remaining life of a component or structure. The work covers fracture mechanics, fatigue and crack-growth analysis, critical-flaw and inspection-interval determination, and the residual strength of a damaged part — the discipline that decides whether a known defect is tolerable or disqualifying.
How Scienalysis does the work
Scienalysis characterizes the flaw and the loading from the physical evidence — fractography, defect geometry, material, and service conditions — and applies fracture-mechanics and crack-growth methods to bound the remaining life of the part and the point at which a crack would have become detectable by a given inspection method. Conclusions are framed to the standard that governs expert work — reliable method, sufficient data, and reasoning defensible step by step.
